L’hotel Villa Ariston, al centro di uno splendido parco affacciato sul mare è uno dei più affascinanti e prestigiosi alberghi della Riviera di Abbazia. Costruita alla fine dell'Ottocento e poi restaurata nel 1924, sulle linee classiche del noto architetto viennese Carl Seidl, durante gli anni, Villa Ariston ha ospitato reali, uomini di stato, esponenti dell’alta moda; tra i gli ospiti più famosi ricordiamo appartenenti alla dinastia degli Asburgo, i Kennedy e Coco Chanel. Immerso in un parco secolare che scende fino al mare l'albergo domina dalle sue terrazze in marmo lo splendido golfo del Quarnaro.
L'albergo è una scelta perfetta anche per le occasioni speciali come matrimoni, cocktail party e riunioni d'affari (wi-fi internet free).

Una scalinata accompagna gli ospiti, passando accanto ad un lavoro originale del seicento dell'artista (Bronkhorst Fan Gerritz (1603.-1677.), Schift J.B. 1925., Schiller, Vlaha Bukovac 1896.),alla balconata del primo piano da dove si accede alla suite presidenziale ed alla junior suite. Le restanti camere della villa sono al secondo piano mansardato. L’ albergo ha camere dotate di tutti i comfort (aria condizionata, TV satellitare, minibar asciugacapelli) e un servizio efficiente e impeccabile che coniuga i comfort più moderni con il fascino della tradizione.
La mattina vi serviremo la colazione sulla terrazza con la vista rilassante del golfo e a seguire pranzi e cene nelle storiche sale della villa.
Dall’albergo si può accedere direttamente alla passeggiata intitolata all’imperatore Francesco Giuseppe Primo lunga tredici chilometri che costeggiando il mare unisce Lovran ad Abbazia.
Villa Ariston e dotata anche di una piattaforma –spiaggia privata costruita sulle rocce per un diretto accesso al mare. Per godere il mare e le vicine isole e a disposizione degli ospiti un veloce e potente daycruiser di 10 mt L'albergo possiede un proprio parcheggio per gli ospiti.


History of Villa Ariston

First time mentioned in 1890. as the property of Mrs. Anna Pick, the widow of Dr. Julius from Ozor, Hungary.
In 1898. the owner became baroness Hedviga von Haas-Teichen from Vienna who ordered the project in year 1908. from Oswald Meese. So that year is considered to be the year of birth of this Villa.
Villa was several times renovated and adapted, and today´s form got thanks to adaptations in 1915. and 1924. which were performed by Vienna-Opatija´s architect Carl Siedl so that Villa looks like «Mediterranean Jewel» rising from cliffs above the sea.
A large area around the Villa was turned into an English-stlyled promenade, in front of Villa there is, some say, the oldest Opatija`s palm tree.
Beetween two World wars, the Villa was owned by Italian prince Andrea Boncompagni and then by Jewish family Papo, and in 1960`s Villa gets today`s function as hotel and restaurant.
So, from the name Villa Haas and Villa Papo we get to the today`s name Villa Ariston, from the Greek aristos what means: the best, the noblest.
The interior of Villa is almost completely preserved. The walls are enriched with paintings from dutch masters: the portrait of baroness Hedwiga, presentations of batlles and nature mort from Lombardy, 17th century. Above the entrance into Villa there is one example of ancient sculpture, replica of Auriga, the charioteer from Delphi.
